I am writing you today because we have had a terrible event effect one of our members, Firefighter Dan Marchand. Firefighter Marchand and his wife, Kate, had a devastating fire to their home two days after Christmas. They lost their home, their two dogs and almost all of their possessions in their home. While this would be a horrible situation for any person, this is not the end of the Marchand’s struggles. Firefighter Marchand is a member of the Air National Guard and is scheduled to be deployed overseas in the next month. Kate is also pregnant with twin girls, who are due while Dan will be overseas.
Dan Marchand protects our community as a dedicated and exemplary firefighter, serves on our local's executive board, and protects our country as a brave and loyal member of the Air National Guard. No newlyweds should start building their family in these conditions, especially Dan and Kate who give so much to our community. We would appreciate any help you can give us in this endeavor as we strive to help and support one of our own.
