Governor signs law extending period to file claim for World Trade Centers operations

Sep 13, 2016 | Alerts, News Releases, nyspffa_news

Yesterday the governor signed into law the current 9/11 bill, which extends the period for filing a claim relating to World Trade Center rescue, recovery, and clean-up operations through September 11, 2018. We thank the governor for signing it, and we again thank the bill’s sponsors, our great friends Senator Marty Golden and Assemblyman Peter Abbate, for their continued efforts on behalf of our membership.

This is an important act in that, as we all know, many of those affected by the 9/11 terrorist attack did not file for the registry, and this will afford those individuals, and those yet to be diagnosed with 9/11-related illnesses diseases, two more years to do so.
