The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday denied a petition to rehear a case in which they deadlocked on a challenge to mandatory union fees.
The case stemmed from Rebecca Friedrichs, a California teacher in Orange County, who said she had resigned from the union but was still required to pay about $650 to cover bargaining costs.
