We at Medina FD are applying for a Safer Grant.  We asked for 4 positions but the Village Board will only let us apply for 2. They asked me to get numbers as to how many personnel departments in our area have and the call volume they run. 

Please email me back with the number of personnel in your local, your yearly call volume, whether you provide EMS first aid or Transport Ambulance, and the percentage of your calls that make up EMS/Ambulance runs.

I'm hoping it will only take you a few minutes to access this data for us which will be very helpful in our argument that 13 career personnel with a handful of volunteers in understaffed to run 2500 calls a year WITH transport ambulance for 5 fire districts!  The powers that be don't seem to understand that.

Looking for ideas for retirements incentives.  We are getting ready for contract discussions and would like to review what other locals have done in the past, good and the bad.  Looking for any ideas, can be related to pension, health insurance, etc.

Have a member looking to drop his paramedic card. Civil service requirement when he came on the job says "May be required to become certified in Advanced Life Support". No language in contract. City paid for all training. Looking to see if any Locals have had to deal with this issue, and what the outcomes were.

We are looking for contract language relating to members who are military reservists. Currently, our contract contains no such language and our management is doing what is minimally required by law (days off and docked pay.) We are looking for any contractual policy/procedures and number of military leave days with pay given to employees.

We are looking for language for handling disputes in our 207a policy. The City doesn't like the use of the arbitration procedure. If any Local has another way for handling disputes please notify me

On going contract negotiations, City is proposing a change in Health Care Insurance. Looking to go to Self-Insured, and also a high deductible HSA account. Does anyone have familiarity or information regarding these topics. I have heard it quite unusual for a municipality to suggesting these types of plans.
