We at Medina FD are applying for a Safer Grant. We asked for 4 positions but the Village Board will only let us apply for 2. They asked me to get numbers as to how many personnel departments in our area have and the call volume they run. Please email me back with the number of personnel in your local, your yearly call volume, whether you provide EMS first aid or Transport Ambulance, and the percentage of your calls that make up EMS/Ambulance runs. I'm hoping it will only take you a few minutes to access this data for us which will be very helpful in our argument that 13 career personnel with a handful of volunteers in understaffed to run 2500 calls a year WITH transport ambulance for 5 fire districts! The powers that be don't seem to understand that.

Currently, our contract contains no such language and our management is doing what is minimally required by law (days off and docked pay.) We are looking for any contractual policy/procedures and number of military leave days with pay given to employees. We are a fire district, so we do not have a town/village/city-wide military policy from an HR department to follow

On going contract negotiations, City is proposing a change in Health Care Insurance. Looking to go to Self-Insured, and also a high deductible HSA account. Does anyone have familiarity or information regarding these topics. I have heard it quite unusual for a municipality to suggesting these types of plans.
