November 11 in the U.S. is designated as a day of appreciation for those who served in the uniformed armed forces.
Originally, the 11th day of the 11th month was recognized as the end of World War I – Armistice Day.
This observance began in 1918.
In 1954, the symbolism grew to include a tribute to all serving in the U.S. military and became known as Veterans Day.
It was my honor to serve in the United States Air Force – and on behalf of our brothers and sisters, and all first responders, I express my gratitude and thanks for your selfless service to our nation.
