Brothers and Sisters,
In May of 2025, we demonstrated our strength and unity with a Tier 6 reform rally at the Capitol, bringing more than 300 members to the Million Dollar Staircase—most traveling from Westchester County. That showing made an impact. Now, we must build on that momentum.
On March 8, 2026, in partnership with the AFL-CIO, we will hold another Tier 6 Reform Rally at the MVP Arena in Albany. This effort demands full participation from every Local. We are calling on you to make this rally a top priority and mobilize your members. Our goal is ambitious but achievable:1,000 firefighters standing together in Albany to demand real Tier 6 reform.
Attached please find the design for RED Tier 6 Rally T-shirts, which Locals may use when placing their own orders. Wearing these shirts will ensure a unified, visible, and powerful presence at the rally. Additional rally details will be shared as they become available.
We recognize that March will be an exceptionally busy month. Your NYSPFFA Executive Board is fully aware of the scheduling challenges, but events of this scale are not within our control—and neither is the urgency of this fight. Tier 6 reform remains President Sam Fresina’s top priority, and success will require all hands on deck.
Please also note that March 4–5 marks our Legislative Conference, where the overtime cap will be our primary focus. We are urging Locals to participate in record numbers. History has shown that flooding the halls of the Capitol is the most effective way to drive change.
This is a critical moment for our membership and our future. Let’s show Albany our strength, our unity, and our resolve.
