In these difficult times, as firefighters on the front line, we are facing challenges unique to our profession. Securing proper PPE, presumptive health coverage legislation for you and your families, as well as safe operational procedures, are among the most important and urgent issues we are working on.<\/p>\n
Initially, our state DOH released a document outlining procedures for all health care professionals. However, we immediately realized that these instructions did not take into account the particular circumstances under which firefighters live and work. Through numerous conference calls with top officials from DOH and the Governors office, we were finally able to provide guidance that makes sense in protecting our members, families, and the people we serve. The new language, which is HERE<\/a>, is the result of input from locals across the state, and corrects the problems which increased the spread of \u00a0COVID-19 among our members and surrounding neighborhoods.<\/p>\n Our work on all related issues will continue on your behalf, and we urge you to contact any member of our Executive Board with suggestions or concerns.<\/p>\n Stay Safe.<\/p>\n Samuel A.
