Memorial Day Message

Memorial Day was yesterday. The remembrance doesn't end with the calendar.

The New York State Professional Fire Fighters Association honors every service member who gave their life defending this country. Their sacrifice built the freedom we live under and the communities we protect every shift.

Many of our brothers and sisters on the line are veterans. Many of the names on memorial walls across this state belonged to fire fighters who served first in uniform of a different kind. The thread between military service and the fire service runs deep, and we carry it forward in how we show up for our communities.

To the families who carry the weight of that loss every day of the year: we see you. We stand with you. And we will keep their names spoken.

Thank you to all who served, and to all who never came home.
